Directions

Getting to Suir

Suir Blueway is located in County Tipperary in Ireland’s Ancient East and can be accessed from several nearby towns and villages. Key access points include Clonmel, Cahir and Carrick-on-Suir, all providing convenient starting points for exploring the Blueway.

By Car

From Dublin, take the M8 motorway towards Cork, exiting for Cahir or Clonmel. Follow local signage to the River Suir Blueway access points along the river.

Typical travel times

  • Dublin: approx. 2–2.5 hours
  • Cork: approx. 1.5 hours
  • Galway: approx. 2.5 hours
  • Limerick: approx. 1 hour

Public Transport

Regular bus services operate to Clonmel, Cahir and Carrick-on-Suir. Rail services are available to Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir, with connecting routes from major cities. Local taxis and cycling routes can bring you to Blueway access points.
