Boyne Blueway (Trim) follows the gentle waters of the River Boyne through one of Ireland’s most distinctive heritage landscapes. For centuries, the river has shaped life in the Boyne Valley, supporting settlement, movement trade and connection.

Blueway Accreditation

Boyne Blueway is part of Ireland’s growing network of accredited Blueways — multi-activity recreational trails that offer accessible and enjoyable ways to explore waterways and the landscapes around them.

To ensure consistently high standards, each Blueway must successfully complete an accreditation process before launch and every three years thereafter. This helps support high-quality visitor experiences, environmental care and strong connections with local communities and businesses.
