  • What is the Boyne Blueway?

    The Boyne Blueway is an accredited recreational water trail along the River Boyne in County Meath. It offers kayaking, canoeing, rafting and other paddling experiences through the historic Boyne Valley.

  •  Where is the Boyne Blueway located?

    The most popular section of the Blueway runs between Trim and Bective Mill in County Meath, passing through the heart of the Boyne Valley.

  • How long is the Boyne Blueway?

    There are two commonly referenced routes:

    • The accredited Boyne Blueway Trim section is approximately 8km long. 
    • The wider Boyne Blueway route extends for around 35km from Inchamore Bridge near Longwood through Trim to Bective Mill.
  • How long does it take to complete the Boyne Blueway?

    The 8km Trim-to-Bective section typically takes 2.5 to 3 hours to paddle. More leisurely self-guided trips can take up to 4 hours.

  • Is the Boyne Blueway suitable for beginners?

    Yes. The river is generally gentle and is considered suitable for beginners, families and paddlers with limited experience.

  • Do I need my own kayak or canoe?

  • Can I paddle without a guide?
