History

River Suir Blueway follows the course of one of Ireland’s most historic rivers, connecting towns and communities that have long relied on the river for trade, transport and daily life.

Blueway Accreditation

The Suir Blueway, Tipperary, is part of Ireland’s growing network of accredited Blueways — multi-activity recreational trails that offer accessible and enjoyable ways to explore waterways and the special landscapes around them.

To ensure consistently-high standards, each Blueway must successfully complete an accreditation process before launch and every three years thereafter. This helps support high-quality visitor experiences, environmental care and strong connections with local communities and businesses.
